Annual Swimming of the Kanokee Salmon
If you have never seen the Kokanee salmon spawn, you are definitely missing out.
Each fall the swimming of the Kanokee Salmon occurs between the last week of August until Mid September. You can view this by hiking, or by water i.e. paddle board, kayak, canoe etc.
It is about a 45 minute paddle each way and when you get there you have to walk for about 10 minutes to get to the pond where you can see more salmon. As you walk up you can see the Salmon and their journey to swim up stream.
You can't keep any Kokanee in Utah from Sept. 10–Nov. 30. This closure will be in effect at all of the salmon waters in the state.
Starting Dec. 1, you can keep Kokanee up to the legal limit.
