Welcome Fall weather and the buzz has begun with the thoughts of snowflakes and hot chocolate.
There are many things to do this time of year as we plan where we will spend our time this winter and with whom.
We live in the beautiful Ogden Valley and it has many things to offer. I thought it would be great to hear about some of the offerings that some might not know about. I would like to introduce or reintroduce to you the North Fork Park.
Ogden Nordic is a non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of Nordic Skiing. Our group initially took shape in 1997 and focused on a juniors program. Our mission expanded in 2002 when we began our efforts to groom North Fork Park and facilitate a Nordic Venue for the citizens and visitors of Weber County.
Our outreach initiatives include;
Host and groom for the Winter Version of the Utah Special Olympics.
Host Winter Trails Day. Open to the public to try the winter trails.
Junior's after school ski program.
Host Moon Light Glides during Jan, Feb, March. Come and enjoy moon-lit trails.
They offer cross county skiing and snowshoeing. They have events that go through out the season.
A fun event they have is the Ogden Nordic Moonlight Glide. They start at 6 pm and go to 9 pm. They are presented monthly and offer rentals at half off with a bonfire, hot chocolate and brownies. There is a tiki torch lit trail head. What a great evening to enjoy with friends, couples or just to get out and meet others in the area.
